Big Idea of the Message: Jesus’s baptism and temptation represent his identification with humanity’s failures and sin, as well as his anointing and preparation to preach the gospel.


Application Point: We can find the strength to overcome temptation by realizing that Jesus once stood in our shoes—yet remained blameless.
