Grow-Go-Sow Lesson 16

ISRAEL CROSSES INTO THE PROMISED LAND

Text: Joshua 3:1–17; Philippians 1:6

Topic(s): God’s Promises, Doubt

Big Idea of the Message: Just like God parted the Red Sea and delivered the Hebrew people from Egypt, he also fulfilled his promise to bring Israel into Canaan in a miraculous way.

Application Point: We can trust that what God has started in us through Jesus’s death and resurrection will be completed. When life causes us to doubt God’s goodness, we must take time to remind ourselves of the miracle of salvation through Jesus Christ.

Discussion Questions:

2. Why are Israel’s exodus from Egypt and entrance into Canaan so similar?
3. In what ways does the New Testament teach us that God’s presence is with us wherever we go?
4. In which areas of your life do you see God at work? How have these changed in your time as a believer?
5. How can you actively put your faith in God’s ability to fulfill his promises in your life?
